Editor’s Note: While lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender pride parades march down the main street of many U.S. cities like San Francisco, in Nepal the country’s only LGBT group struggles to have its voice heard. Sunil Pant, founder of the Blue Diamond Society, the only LGBT support group in Nepal and the winner of the prestigious 2007 Felipa de Souza Award from the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission discusses the challenges (and pleasures) of being gay in Nepal.
