Miss Asia USA Pageant Comes to TV

NEW YORK – For the first time, the Miss Asia USA Pagent will be aired nationally, reports the Vietnamese-language Nguoi Viet. ImaginAsian TV (iaTV), the United States’ first 24-hour Asian American television network, will show the 18th Annual Miss Asia USA Pageant on June 25 at 8 p.m. in the East and 5 p.m. in the West. It will be re-aired the same night at 10 p.m. Pacific time and 1 a.m. Eastern time. The pagent was held in April at the historic Alex Theater in Glendale, Calif. Twenty-eight delegates participated in this celebration of culture, beauty and talent, representing most of the 50 countries in the Asian continent. They paraded across the stage in lavish national costumes, evening gowns and swimsuits, and joined in the program’s interview portion in front of a sold-out crowd. Fukuzaki, KABC-TV sports anchor and Reshma Dordi, Miss L.A. India 1989, hosted the pageant. Jennifer Pham, a student at the University of California, Irvine, won this year’s title.
